John 4:7 A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” Jesus’s meeting with the woman at the well was not by chance, Jesus had an appointment. John 4:9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) But her eyes were closed to the possibilities.
Do you grasp the significance as woman, mothers, daughters, sisters of the miracle of getting Jesus at the well in your life? That place where you have dried up, your heartache or journey has come to much to bear, you stand at the edge looking in wondering how did you get here?
Jesus is saying to you John 4:10 “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
Jesus in this moment is saying daughter, I am here at the well of your life, here take a sip of my eternal healing, my living waters that will bring life into your life. Do you not understand the Samaritan had to wait at the well for Jesus, but Jesus covered the gap with His blood you can freely enter into His amazing grace and partake of that ocean when you need it!
I have always believed that the longest conversation that Jesus ever had with an individual was with that woman and the significance tells us, that Jesus knew the burden we would carry upon our lives as woman, and His message so many years ago was, I will sit by you, you are special to me!
